This is the plan

Day-1: On the first day you will explore Angkor Wat and several of the most iconic temples in the Angkor Archaeological Park, giving you an unforgettable introduction to the Khmer Empire. The variety of architectural styles and the changing natural surroundings make each site feel distinct, while the carvings and paintings carved into the stone reveal the cultural depth and sophistication of this ancient civilisation.

Your guide will pick you up at 4:30 am for an early departure to witness the sunrise over Angkor Wat, a moment that many travellers consider the highlight of their visit. The complex extends across more than 400 square kilometres (4,305 square feet) and was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. After sunrise, the tour continues through the magnificent Angkor Wat temple itself, the ancient city of Angkor Thom, the striking Bayon temple with its serene smiling faces, the atmospheric forest temple of Ta Phrohm, where giant tree roots embrace the ruins, and the peaceful Ta Nei hidden among the trees.

Journey to Kbal Spean Jungle Ruins: The River of a Thousand Lingas Getting There:

Day-2: The second day begins with an 8:00 am pick-up as you head toward some of Angkor’s lesser-visited yet deeply fascinating sites. Your journey leads to Kbal Spean, located deep in the jungle about 60 kilometres (37 miles) from the main archaeological area. Known as the “river of a thousand lingas,” this site lies along the slope of the Kulen mountain and features carvings etched directly into the riverbed and natural rock formations. Reaching it requires an enjoyable 1,500-metre forest trek. After this experience, you will continue to Banteay Srie, often referred to as the Lady Temple. Built in the 9th century, it is admired for its pink sandstone and incredibly detailed carvings, making it one of the finest and most delicate works of Khmer architecture.

Bantaey Srei: The Citadel of Beauty

Located 37 km north of Siem Reap on Route #67, Bantaey Srei is a must-see Khmer site celebrated for its exquisite red sandstone temple. Known as the “Citadel of Beauty,” Bantaey Srei’s intricate carvings and unique coloration distinguish it from other temples in the region. The intimate size allows for an hour-long visit. Plan your tour in the morning to enjoy the cooler hours, as the site lacks shade.

(About local Pok)

We had a great day with Pok, a tuktuk driver picked us up at the right timing. A very good drive to meet Pok, the driver stayed with us the whole day. At every stop he had a bottle of cold water ready for us. In the afternoon there was time for a lunch at a nice place with good food. Pok is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide that speaks English very good. Pok can take the best pictures with his iphone. We had a 2 person private tour. Siem Reap is totally safe, the Thai conflict is far away from Siem Reap, people here are suffering from the drop in tourism the main income source here. I hope this conflict will stop yesterday!!!

(About local Long)

We did a sunrise tour of Angkor Wat with Long, visiting three different temples, and it was an incredible experience. Long was extremely responsive before the tour, very punctual on the day, and exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of Angkor. His explanations were fascinating and really brought the temples to life. I highly recommend Long if you’re looking for a professional, reliable, and highly informed guide for Angkor Wat.

(About local Oun)

Four of us hired Oun and a driver for a temple tour, and we were really happy with Oun and the tour. It was the perfect length, and while of course he had lots of information to share about the various temples, their history, and Cambodia’s history, he also was literally the only guide we saw that was carrying a real camera (a nice Nikon with a good lens). The pics he took were the best I’ve ever had a guide take. Would definitely hire him again!

(About local Long)

Long was a fantastic guide. He provided an educational, in depth experience that was highly tailored to our 21 and 18 year olds – as well as the adults. Although I had been to Siem Reap a number of times, this was our first family trip to Cambodia and we had a fantastic tour of Angkor Wat and surrounding temples, as well as local details. Long has an incredible historical knowledge as well as a kind and wonderful way of interacting and educating. A truly fantastic experience./p>

We can’t say enough good things about our guide Oun. He was charming and friendly and his knowledge of Cambodian history and the temples was fantastic. He was very engaging in telling us all about the origins and history of these fantastic artefacts and monuments and it was a pleasure to be in his company for the day. His English was superb with a great sense of humour which made the experience all the more entertaining and informative. We would definitely recommend embarking on an excursion with Oun, as he was one of the best guides I have ever been on a tour with.

We had hired Long for this day as a guide for a visit to Angkor Wat, the Bayon Temple and the Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider temple). Long is a very dedicated guide who knows a lot about the history of these temples. He speaks clear and calm English. Tuktuk driver and unlimited cold water were available. In addition, Long is also a good photographer. He knows all the beautiful spots to take nice pictures. We can highly recommend Long.

(About local Oun)

We had a great time with Oun. He is full of information and shared lots of knowledge about the three temples we visited. We were very satisfied as we learned lots. Oun has great English and is fun to be with. The 6 hour day flew by. The tuk tuk driver was great, he drove safely and was ready with cold water and towels after each temple to help us cool down between journeys. Overall, if you are interested in learning about Angkor Wat, the other temples, cambodias history and culture, this is an easy choice.

(About local Long)

We did a sunrise tour with Long, and we were not disappointed. It was the first day of Khmer New Year and we saw all the local dignitaries getting ready to welcome the king to Angkor Wat. What a once in a lifetime experience for us and our two kids aged 10 and 8. Long was very knowledgeable about Cambodian history and told us some amazing stories about Buddhism and Hinduism. Our kids really enjoyed those stories, as did we!

(About local Long)

The trip with Long to the temples was great! Usually these kind of trips a bit boring, but he managed to make it interesting. He took us to a great spot for sunrise photos and after that explained thoroughly everything about Angkor Wat. His English is great, even our 11 year old understood. Long is very well educated on the history of the Khmer empire and about Hinduism and budism. What was a very pleasant surprise were his skills with the phone camera, he made great photos of us! I would fully recommend to anyone wanting to learn about the history or just wants to have a pleasant conversation!

(About local Oun)

Oun was fantastic as our guide through Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm and several other temples. It was extremely hot, my kids (10 and 12) were tired and hot, but he made it interesting and hit the highlights for us. He’s also a great photographer and took some beautiful pictures of us to remember our time there. His restaurant recommendations in town were delicious!
